Copyright Policy & Takedown Notice

Last updated: July 18, 2026

1. Our Position on Copyright

Best IPTV NZ respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of our service to do the same. We operate as a service aggregator and billing intermediary. We do not host, stream, encode, transmit, or otherwise make available any video, audio, or audio-visual content through our website or service.

All channels, video-on-demand titles, and media content accessible via our service are delivered by independent third-party providers over whom we exercise no editorial, technical, or operational control. We do not select, curate, schedule, or modify any third-party content.

This policy explains how copyright owners or their authorised representatives can notify us of alleged infringement and how we will respond.

2. Designated Copyright Agent

Communications concerning alleged copyright infringement should be sent to our designated copyright agent:

Copyright Agent, Best IPTV NZ

Email: [email protected]

Auckland, New Zealand

Response window: within 72 hours (business days)

For urgent takedown requests requiring escalation outside of normal business hours, please mark the subject line [URGENT TAKEDOWN].

3. Filing a Takedown Notice

To be acted upon, a notice of alleged infringement must be a written communication sent to the email address above and must include the following information (consistent with the requirements of the New Zealand Copyright Act 1994 and recognised international practice):

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or — if multiple works are covered by a single notice — a representative list of such works.
  2. Identification of the specific material that is claimed to be infringing, including the URL, channel name, or other specific identifier sufficient to allow us to locate the material on or through our service.
  3. Contact information for the complaining party, including full legal name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that the complaining party is authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  6. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.

Notices that do not substantially comply with the above requirements may be rejected, and the sender will be notified of the deficiency and given an opportunity to cure it.

4. Our Response Process

Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of the notice within 72 hours.
  • Forward the notice (or the relevant portions of it) to the third-party content provider identified as the source of the alleged infringing material.
  • Take reasonable steps to remove or disable access to the specific material identified in the notice, where the material is under our technical control.
  • Notify the affected user/account holder (where applicable) that a notice has been received.
  • Maintain records of all notices received and actions taken, in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

We will not, except where required by law or court order, make payments, admissions, or settlements in response to takedown notices without first consulting legal counsel.

5. Counter-Notice

If you believe that material you provided or accessed through our service was removed or disabled in error or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice with our designated copyright agent. A valid counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts for any judicial proceedings arising from the notice.

6. Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances, we will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We interpret “repeat infringer” consistently with section 92B of the Copyright Act 1994 and applicable New Zealand case law.

7. False or Bad-Faith Notices

Any person who knowingly makes a false or misleading representation in a takedown notice may be liable under sections 9 and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986 and may expose themselves to claims for damages by the affected account holder. We reserve the right to refer abusive or clearly bad-faith notices to the appropriate authorities.

8. No Waiver

Our failure to act on a specific notice or to enforce any provision of this policy in any instance does not constitute a waiver of our right to do so at any other time. No employee, agent, or representative of Best IPTV NZ is authorised to waive any provision of this policy except in a signed, written notice.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Copyright Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the date of the most recent revision. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without providing prior notice.
